Happy Independence Day!

Today is the Fourth of July in the US and we celebrated with family at my Godparents Chuck and Annemarie's house. It's much cooler than normal, so it was really nice sitting outside on the deck. For once we weren't all hot and sticky. My mom made a really good potato salad and we all enjoyed the sausages and hamburgers my Godfather Chuck grilled. ER had fun blowing bubbles, playing with her bat and ball along with Papa and Daddy, and chasing the adults all over the back yard.

We decided not to take her to see any fireworks because just the sound of them going off last night scared her in bed. She did get a thrill out of seeing them explode during the car ride home. Amazingly, she even stayed up the entire way with her eyes peeled for any firecracker action in the night sky. Best of all, we got home in time to see some really big ones from our front driveway, although we watched most of the from our front window. The noise was still scaring ER.

Brad has Monday off so it's the start of a 3 day weekend with him! Let freedom ring and Happy 4th of July everyone!

  2. Hi Katie! Glad to hear that you had a wonderful 4th! Ours was pretty low key and was just spent with the four of us. We didn't attempt fireworks either. Maybe next year they can stay up past their bedtime! ;) We did do some sparklers right before bed and the kids, of course, loved those. I was a major control freak in fear of their clothes catching fire!

Enjoy the next couple days with your family! An extra day off is also a celebrated thing at our house!
