Fall Family Pictures

Our plan was to do a fall family picture session with a professional photographer that we really like. But recently we've been economizing, haven't we all, and decided to try using our tripod and digital camera to take our own. We've been waiting for the fall foliage to be full of color, but also holding our breath for a sunny day after several of nothing but rain. These were taken at the local Metro Park we go to all the time, it's just ten minutes from our house. Believe it or not but the large play structure is just on the other side of the hill we're sitting on. I am planning on cropping in a little and playing around with them a little bit more on Photoshop Elements. Overall, I am really happy with how they came out. Now if only we'd managed to position ourselves better and didn't have the fence and benches in our family picture. We did move over a bit to avoid that better, but by then ER was too fussy and we didn't get a good one.
Here are my two favorite of our little chicklet. While these aren't as snazzy as outdoor pictures with Amanda would've been, cause seriously she's great, I am rather happy with them and proud that we took them ourselves. I am so glad the sun came out for a few hours last Sunday!

You may recognize some of these pictures from my the ZoomAlbum giveaway post I recently did, don't forget to enter for your chance to win a kit with 3 photo cover ZoomAlbums in it! Giveaway ends on the 29th!

  5. They turned out great! ER's little pumpkin shirt and sweater are adorable!!! I love it.

I do the same thing as far a taking my own pictures. I will dress LC in whatever holiday outfit I have bought for him and we take our own pics. I always do my own Christmas card picture as well. It is so much cheaper and I can do it on my time whenever I have the time. Works better for our busy life.
