Baby Brag Book

I recently mentioned that my Aunt and Uncle are in from New York. They are the proud grandparents of the newest baby to join our family. One thing they brought along with them, was this mini book I sent to them awhile ago, to put some of their pictures in and use as a proud grandparents brag book. It was fun to see it all filled with pictures, so I thought it was a good time to share the pictures of the booklet, that I took before I mailed it off. It's a very easy mini book to make. Just cut 12X12 paper in half so you have 12X6 sheets. Cut Fold in half so you have a 6X6 piece. Trim slightly so you end up with approximately 6X5.5. After you have several, glue the back of one to the front of the next. Smooth our wrinkles and put under a heavy book ensure good adhesion.
To make the cover, take 12X6 piece of paper. Fold in half. Place inside bunch of pages in middle. Line up spine of pages with center of the cover sheet. Press and fold around cover sheet around pages. Glue to front and back pages. I realize this might be a little hard to understand but I made it awhile ago and didn't think to take pictures for a tutorial. I won't promise to do a tutorial because the last time I did, I never got around to it. But if I make another one I'll take better pictures to illustrate each step.
The book won't close flat when pictures are added, but it'll look really cute fanned out on a table or desk. I think the glimpses inside will make people want to stop and pick it up to look at. Aren't the tabs cute?
My favorite part of this mini is the cover. I layered everything for a 3D effect and used a really cool shaker baby bottle accent that came premade. Stamped the baby feet on a premade flower tag, attached to ribbon with a mini purple baby pin, and then tied the whole thing onto the frame.
Here is another slight variation that I made at the same time for my friend Sara before she had her baby, who is now fifteen months old. The papers and coordinating paper embellishments came from a scrap pad by K&Company that included all shorts of punch outs and papers. I made these two projects with supplies I had leftover from making ER's baby scrapbooks.

  12. That is so adorable! I think I misses saying Happy New Year to you. Happy New Year!! Sorry I haven't been around lately. New Years Eve I got sick because I ate to much and then Jason got some virus that he passed to me. It was a mess at our house for a while. I pretty much just did facebook and complained on twitter;)
