Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Besides being May Day, today is also National Scrapbooking Day, when scrapbooking and memory keeping enthusiasts come together and celebrate their hobby. There are special events, sales, and freebies at many of the online scrapbooks stores like and lots of local crops going on as well. As you all know I am a big time scrapbooker and paper crafter so I am all about NSD. {Page Credits: Little Scholar Kit by Jady Day Studio and Jane Template from Simple Scrapper.}

I've been very consumed with finishing the eleven 20 paged preschool memory books for ER's classmates but have had a little time to play around for fun. Here is my most recent digital page. The journaling would be underneath the title but I removed it for privacy. It was super quick to put together because I used a template and just had to drag and click all the elements into place. Feels a little like cheating but you can customize things by the elements you choose and best of all, it's very quick and easy to do. Seriously, like ten minutes, I can't even drag out all my cutter, adhesive, etc. and pick papers in that amount of time.I managed to finally track down some Disney themed rub-ons to add to the cover of the Snapfish photo book I made of our trip. The title reads Our Magical Memories; the red letters in the title stand out more from the linen cover in person. I'm pretty happy with it, I think give it a nice finishing touch. I love using rub-ons to customize covers, making it look less generic.

It's also great to already have something done with all my favorite photos and the gist of our memories recorded. I will probably make a small traditional paper scrapbook, at least that's my intention but who knows when I'll get around to it. This way I know the photos are off the memory card and being enjoyed right away.
There's nothing like some new supplies to get the creative juices flowing, I've been waiting for these new lines from Doodlebug Designs to hit the stores. They are SO super cute, I picked up papers from their summer line and I love the new punch out accents to go with them; I really like the journaling cards. They'll be a great way to encourage me to get my own handwriting on the page. I also picked up the coordinating stickers and border stickers. With so many coordinating supplies, I think I feel a mini book in the works!I couldn't resist also picking up papers, stickers, and die cut sheets for the farm line. Who am I kidding, I didn't even try to hold back. I've got several field trips and visits with friends to scrap and these will be perfect. I also succumbed to the transportation line☺ Shopping was tons of fun, and made up for our rained out plans that we originally had for today. I can't wait to actually get to play with this stuff, it's part of my Mother's Day present from ER so I've got to wait until next weekend to actually get it. Happy Scrapping and Creating!

  1. Those farm stickers are precious, as are your projects! I wish I could say I'm taking advantage of the 'day,' but I'm not today. I scrapbook during the summer, and have a retreat planned to do just that in July! I'll look forward to more motivating ideas from your site. :O)

  2. Gosh with a 9 month old at home I don't really have a lot of extra time for this fun hobby anymore. However I have picked up digital scrapbooking. It's a little cheaper and a whole lot quicker for me. Happy Nat'l SB day!

  3. Cute stuff! I wish I had the space to accommodate all the hobbies I want to try out! My jewelry stuff is in baskets because I have no where to work. I bet scrapbooking is fun. I may need to try that out soon :)

  4. I'm not a scrapbooker, but I HEART stickers. I really can't help myself when I go into stores - the stickers just lure me in.

    Happy Saturday!
