Then Aunt Cheri sent ER's birthday presents early so she could get a lot of wear out of them this summer. She made both of these dresses; she is so talented and knows the way to a little girl's heart. Matching handmade hair ribbons were included. She is wearing this one in yesterday's post on going to the Cranbrook Science Institute. She really likes that it matches her favorite blue sandles. Interestingly, the top part of this dress used to be a pair of Aunt Cheri's capri's. Love that! She also sent along this pretty pink one with cute balloon fabric, it reminds me of something that would be in Victoria Magazine, a favorite read of mine. ER loves that there are pockets on it.
The detail on it is called tatting, and Brad's Great Great Grandmother made tons and tons of this stuff. We're so lucky to have a piece of her handiwork incorporated into something ER can wear.
