Be My Valentine Blog Hop: Be Mine Banner & Giveaway

Thank you to everyone who visited my blog, participated in my challenge, or hosted a stop along the blog hop. You all made this a very fun event for me! Congratulations to Angela...winner of the RAK on my blog:)
Valentine Blog Hop
I am so happy to be participating in the first members Creative Scrapbooking Divas blog hop! "Be My Valentine Blog Hop" is all about Valentine projects! You'll visit 14 Divas blogs, each showcasing an awesome creation like layouts, cards, treat bags, and more for Valentines. Most stops on our blog hop are also offering a RAK {Random Act of Kindness} for you to WIN. Each Diva will have different methods of entry for her RAK, so make sure you read the directions at each stop carefully. Note how to be elligible to win as well as the due dates for any challenges that might be posted along the way.

I am relatively new to the CSDivas, but I've already found it be a great place for other Creative Scrapbooking Divas, like me☺, to inspire each other, get creative, and enjoy the process! Members are encouraged to create, try different things, challenge themselves and enjoy the process. One thing I really like about CSDivas, is they aren't selling anything...but they do have monthly challenges with RAKs offered, great camaraderie, and the chance to be Spotlighted for your fabulous creations. Most of all, the main purpose behind being a CSDivas members is to have fun!!!

Back to the blog hop, if you have been visiting the otherr Divas, then you should've come here from Sandy at A Scrap Mom's Musings. Your next stop after me is Ann's Scraps of Time. If you're finding out about the blog hop in my blog, please go see Sandy at Scrapbook Blessings to start hoppin!!!

If you have questions, to see the list of all the participants in order, or just chat you can visit us at the Valentine Blog Hop Event discussion. In fact we'd love it if you stopped there after the last stop at Luisa's, when you're all done hopping to tell us you visited everyone, left comments, and had a great time:)
Be Mine Banner
For my "Be Mine Valentine Blog Hop" project, I made this pretty banner to adorn my fireplace mantle. It was so fun to make! I found the coolest shape to use for the pendants on my Once Upon a Princess cartridge. My Cricut made cutting them out easy, I did it once from paper and once out of thin chipboard. Each paper was inked around the edges, before being backed on chipboard.
Detail: Be Mine Banner
The letters I made by reverse printing them onto the backside of the prettiest shimmery cardstock; then hand cut out. The font is DJ Chunky, in case you were wondering. Each letter was also inked before being mounted with foam tape onto cream cardstock trimmed with scalloped scissors. The cardstock is also inked and attached with foam tape, to the pendants.
Be Mine Close Up Details
One of my favorite parts of any project is embellishing! I kept it simple, just one doodad per letter. Most of the stickers are from this set but the glittery swirl is from this one, both by K and Company as well as the paper pack. Little ribbon bows and a ribbon hanger finish this project off. I love having another handmade project to decorate my home with!

Blog Hop Challenge:

My challenge to YOU, is to create a piece of home decor using your paper crafting supplies. It can be a banner like mine, a frame, decoupaged letters, or anything else you can think of! You have until February 17th to accept and share a new project that meets this challenge! Winner announced on the 22nd.

Accept My Challenge & Win!

When you've finished, upload a picture of your project on my challenge thread. To do so, you'll need to join CSDivas, membership is fun and free☺. Post your project in the gallery with the tag... VDhop-Katie and post it in the CSDivas BH CREATIONS Event {or} leave a link to it in the comments. Completing my challenge by February 17th will earn you an extra entry to win my RAK!

RAK {Random Act of Kindness} Giveaway:

For my RAK I've put together a fun litttle paper & embellishement kit, perfect for making a coloful minibook or other small project. I thought this would be especially appropriate coming from me, as making minibooks is one of my favorite things to make. With all the winter weather we've been having in the midwest, I'm ready for spring and these colors remind me of this eagerly anticipated season change!
Included in the kit are:
9 Die Cut Pre-Scored Solid Colored Pockets
5 Die Cut Pre-Scored Printed Pockets
8 Die Cut Pre-Scored Solid Colored Tabs
52 Assorted Solid & Printed Die Cut Shapes
32 Die Cut Solid & Printed Tags
2 Die Cut Solid Pre-Scored Folders
20 6"X6" Assorted Solid & Printed Papers
I also added these cool embellishement packs. Each includes 4 Words & 2 Quotes Printed on Thin Plastic, 10 Plastic Mini Shapes, and 10 Coordinating Metal Brads. You can attach the words and mini shapes with the brads. Because it's a Valentine Blog Hop, I thought some love themed stickers were required! The first set is anniversary themed, the middle wedding, and the paper letter sliders are in the color of my bridesmaid dresses. You'll also get two sets of clear stamps in a Pet and Birthday theme.

Win My RAK:

Two ways to Enter: You can do one or both, just make sure you leave a separate comment to get credit for both! Enter by February 17th! Winner announced on the 22nd.
  • Complete my challenge and create a piece of home decor! Link it up at CSDivas in my challenge thread or leave a link to your project in the comments.

More Prizes!

So why would you want to take part in my challenge, as well as the other Blog Hop Stops? Because there's also a Grand PRIZE at CSDivas! 18. I linked up a Scrappy Canvas for yours, but I made bow holders too that would fit your challenge. I'll post them too at my crop.
My favorite paper project is your standard layout scrapbooking, but I'm starting to like altering items more and more because it really makes me step out of the box. That's a lot of RAK for a special winner!
