Project Life 2013: March 3-9

The week of March 3rd-9th was a lot of fun to put together because it has some of my favorite pictures of the year so far.  This is the full spread as it appears in my album; there's two inserts.
Left Side
I love the top Instagram pic of LB blowing his nose, he just has a mischievous little look in his eye and you can tell he's got a big smile underneath that tissue.  This year in art class my oldest has been learning a lot about drawing and right now they're working on birds.  I had her draw a toucan specifically for our PL album.

I've had a Canon Rebel for over a year now, but I almost always use the automatic settings.  It's a goal of mine to use the manual more and learn more about the features.  The picture of ER was after some experimentation.  I should've included a "before" shot taken on auto, the difference is just startling - so much better when you make your own adjustments!

Along the bottom are two pictures of LB that show his eye as it improves from the infection he had last week that caused it to swell up.  The last picture is another Instagram, just a really cute one of ER heading into dance class.
Insert 1

We celebrated my birthday with my family by going to dinner at a BBQ place I really like, but that is so far away we can't go very often.  This was only the second time we've ever gone there.  It was absolutely delicious and when we told the manager why we were there, he said it really meant a lot to hear customers share that it's a place they pick for special events.

I took a lot of family pictures at my parents' house and at the restaurant and made collages along with some digital supplies.  In the middle pocket is the card from my parents.  It fit perfectly and has such a nice sentiment :)
Insert 2

Behind the bigger insert is a 5X7 with the card my brother gave me, it was too perfect not to include.  I cut it in half before putting it in, I find that makes cards fit better in the pockets.
Right Side

On the right side of the spread I have a picture of my little guy being so sweet outside by the snow.  I don't often type a lot on the photo but really like how it turned out.  I have to do that more often!  I also added a couple digital elements on the photo before getting it printed at Costco.  Next to the sweet little guy is one him not being so sweet as he pushes and head butts his sister.  The word art is from the Cobalt Extra Elements Add On Kit, color changed to match my photo better.

The middle row is mainly about bedtime routines with some Kraft journaling cards, I put together this spread soon after the digital version was released and was so excited to use it right away!  The last photo in the row is from that Friday and is another Kraft journaling card, I added the picture right on top, added my journaling, and then dragged it onto a 4X6 canvas along with the other journaling card.  Then I printed it like a regular photo, cut in half and added, love using the digital supplies for things like this!

On the bottom row is another Instagram, this time of ER practicing her sight word flash cards, such a boring task but one we do as a quick way to review.  The last set of pictures has yet another Instagram and some iPhone pictures from when we went to Ikea and picked up the raskog cart I had been waiting to get restocked.

Thanks for coming by!  I'm linked up to Jessica's The Mom Creative and excited to see how your Project Life is coming along

  1. That birthday card is so appropriate for me and my Brother. At 37, 100 miles away, a wife and a baby he still needs me to do everything for him

Thanks for sharing and have a great week
