The hardest part of the whole project was finding some dance themed paper (Karen Foster Designs). It took three stores to find just one sheet! The frame is a Ribba from Ikea and I bought a second to make a set to hang together on the wall.
My glue dots came in handy and were a great way to adhere the shoes and even though they weren't point shoes, I did attach a little ribbon to "hang" them, also with glue dots. I like how they are transparent so you can't see them at all. You just press in and then take off the backing.
My favorite picture of ER in her recital costume went with the shoes perfectly and all that I added was a little epoxy sticker (creative imaginations).

That is precious! I still have my daughter's ballet shoes. I may have to make one of these.
Thanks for the sweet comment you left on my blog! I have neglected it. That pesky job I got last year seriously interfered with my blogging time. Hopefully that will change soon. :-)

That turned out so cute!
Thats so sweet, and really simple. I am really loving Martha's ideas!
When I saw your thumbnail on TCB I just had to drop by. I'm a retired dance teacher (jazz, mostly) and this is so sweet. I miss teaching all the little ones. They always stole the show!
katie, that's so cute. you did a great job and it will be a precious keepsake for your family.
Wow - that looks really great! What a nice idea!
I have done this several times, one with my daughter's first ballet shoes and leotard, one with the dress she wore when coming home from the hospital, etc. But I never knew it was called scrapboxing! I have several others in mind for future boxes.
