Holiday Leg Warmers

You know how sometimes you have a project in the back of your mind for the longest time? I have seen baby leg warmers for sale, and never really got them. Maybe it's because my kiddo didn't wear that many dresses when she was itty bitty. No the dress phase didn't hit until she preschool and now it's ALL she wants to put on. It's pretty cold here in Michigan, in fact we just got a lot of snow dumped on us. I get ER pretty thick stockings but still I worry about those skinny little legs!

Now leg warmers totally seem like a good idea, and when I came across Momma's Kinda Crafty's easy looking tutorial, it just seemed like time to try it. The women's knee high socks I got at Target are perfect for all the red outfits ER's got and very inexpensive too. My finished socks into leggings are a little wonky at the top, I had some trouble sewing through three layers of stretchy sock. The dress hides that; they'll do the job. I liked how quick and easy they are to make.

I love knowing I can whip up more of these whenever I want and they are a great extra layer, because we'll wear ours on top of tights. A bunch of leggings made with some cute and colorful socks would make fun little stocking stuffers. My kiddo always loves it when I make things for her, so tied up with a bow, a couple of sets are sure to get squeals of happiness.

  1. She sounds just like my daughter! She is suddenly all about skirts for preschool. I usually force her to wear leggings under her skirt, but she hates it. She wants to wear tights. Maybe I can get her to wear leg warmers. Love the snowflakes!
