Playful Kit Release: Pillow Box & Freebie Watercolor Box Printable

It's kit release day at Adorible Digital Designs and you all know what that means, more hybrid goodness to share with you!  I just love, love, love the Playful kit!  The bright primary colors give it a real cheerful and carefree feel, just what childhood should be all about don't you think?
Playful is a great kit for all the play dates, visits to parks, and childhood fun that's coming up with all the warm weather!  Isn't the hop scotch board too cute?  There are so many great elements to work with, like the banner, stitched shapes, and scalloped frames.  You'll also get a complete alphabet with numbers and some punctuation and a set of tabs...it's a big kit!
I really like the papers in this collection, because I find multicolored patterns to be so versatile and really pull all the elements of a page together.  Plus there are so many to choose from, I didn't know what to use first...the starts, the stripes, the text, I wanted to use them all!  There's also coordinating solid colored papers to go with all the prints.  I know that Playful will be one kit I'll come back to use again and again.  It's great for both boy and girl pages.

I know you're as excited about the kit as I am!  To celebrate the kit's release Adorible Digital Designs will be giving a copy away!!!  But hurry on over to enter, the winner will be chosen next Sunday and you don't want to miss your chance!  Good Luck!

Okay back to my project, a super cute pillow box!  The past few summer's we've been part of an informal super relaxed playgroup that meets once a week at a local park.  The kids play, the moms chat, everyone snacks a little, and there's no pressure to show up each week.  You just come whenever you're not on vacation or busy.  It's been great.

Since everyone is local, I thought it would be really fun to make pillow box invitations to hand deliver to our friends.  We can toss in a few sticks of sidewalk chalk, mini bubbles, or a handful of candy to make it extra fun for the kids. I love how they turned out; can't wait to see the smiles on the kids' faces.

A Freebie for You!

Like I said, I really love this kit; I couldn't stop at just Playful project!  Do you remember the recycled crayons we made for Earth Day last month?  We had so many we decided to give some our little friends, but we also needed a super fabulous way to package them up.

My daughter is a painter and her current obsession, are watercolors.  We go through sets all the time and each one comes in such a nice sturdy plastic container, it seems wasteful to throw them away.  We turned our collection of leftovers into pretty containers with the printable I whipped up.

If you'd like to fancy up your watercolor paint boxes, I have it available as a freebie for you:)  I thought the sentiment on it would work for presenting a brand new box of paints as well.  It's a nice way to dress them up a bit, for either yourself or as a little treat for someone special.   My one tip would be to partially "laminate" the two strips before attaching to your box, glue dots work well for that.  They are narrow enough for you to cover one side with clear packing tape.  This projects the design from wear and stray crayon marks.

Enjoy and please remember this freebie is for your own personal use only!
I'll leave you with a layout I made, just to show you how perfect Playful is for all those, well, playful times! (Please note the frame shown above is not in this kit, it's been recolored to match and can be found in the Colours of Spring Kit, also be Adorible Digital Designs.)
