A Crafty Soiree #114

Hello Friends!  I'm writing this Tuesday, right after many in our blogging community were affect by the devastation Sandy brought with her to the East Coast.  In the mid west we got a little, in the form of high winds and sleet but nothing we can't handle and bounce back from quickly.  My mind is on the numerous friends I've met in or around New York, thankful I've heard from most that they are safe.  I hope you and yours are safe too.

Now onto happier thoughts!  If you had trick or treaters last night, I hope you were able to keep your hands out of the candy bowl.  I'm afraid I consumed more than my fair share.  Remember if your fingers are craftin' and full of materials, they can't be eating :)  Let's have one more round of Halloween themed features before we move onto the next holiday.
Edible Place Cards for Halloween from Meeha Meeha

Wouldn't these also be great for Thanksgiving, maybe with a leaft shape?

Make Your Own Doll Plates from Canning Lids from AG Doll Crafts

Aren't these adorable?  What a fun little gift to make and add to a stocking for Christmas for favorite little doll lover.
No Sew Mermaid Costume DIY from Blooms and Bugs

It wouldn't be a Halloween costume without at least one costume and this is such a pretty one AND it's no sew!  I also think this would make a fantastic holiday gift for a little girl who loves dress up.  It would be so fun wrapped up with a nice book about life under the sea.

Candy Corn Pin Cushion from Peck's Pieces

Click on the picture in Marjory's post for the PDF pattern and tutorial and whip up a bunch of these to make for your sewing circle next year.  They'll appreciate such a sweet gesture, one that's calorie free!

Fall Faux Cupcake Designs from Life on Lakeshore Drive

Make seasonal food arrangement that will last forever, using Kathy's tip on what to use for your swirly base.  It's really inexpensive and you can whip up sweets to match any holiday decor.
