Cupcake Cutie

Last Tuesday the girls went over to Grandma Norma's house, and ER had a great time making cupcakes while I was away at a Kappa Delta sorority alumnae meeting. Grandma is a lot braver than mommy, she let her actually frost the cupcakes. I just read a post about letting your kids help more so I really should let her, but I'm glad the first time was with Grandma!I normally let her help me add everything to the mixing bowl and stir things up, but her decorating consists of adding sprinkles. She was thrilled to get to use a knife, don't worry it was just a spreader and done under Grandma's strict supervision of course!Anyone else's kiddo facinated by the Swifer? Bet Grandma didn't know she's been itching to get her fingers on it for months! I can only hope that she is so excited to help me clean up when she get older, probably shouldn't hold my breath!

Just thought I'd add that as I'm typing this I can hear Brad talking to her as they get ready for bed. He just said, "Don't lick your feet," and, "How does that taste?" The things you overhear sometimes! Oh and in case you're wondering, her reply was, "Yummy!" LOL!

I'm still not feeling well, so I may not post this weekend. Have a great one if I don't "see" you! We're supposed to get rain, but I'm not complaining that's a lot better than more snow!

Hee hee, that is funny. I am giggling here to myself.
Impressive icing skills. Although, at first glance, I could tell they were iced by a toddler ;) She is so proud.

She looks so cute frosting the cupcakes. All my girls love the swifer too-as soon as I take it out, they all want to mop.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I like this post about teachable moments. It's good to stop and realize that you can teach your child through what is interesting them at the time! Sometimes you have to follow their lead.

My youngest daughter likes to suck on her big toe. Right now it is sweet, but gotta break her of the habit. But she looks at me and says, "My toes".

Kids do like to help out in the beginning but yup it does change. My oldest complains up a storm if I tell her to do something.

Looks like she is doing a good job on icing the cupcakes.

Hope you are feeling better:)

I think Swiffer is the best invention ever to get your kids to help with chores! My little ones think it's fun! I'll let them think that as long as possible!

Yes -- the Swiffer mop is one of the top toys at our house. Second only to "helping" load and unload the washing machine and dryer. So cute!

I have a cute little "cupcake sprinkler" here, too! They love that job!

Sorry if you're getting a lot of comments from me all at once...I'm a little behind in my favorite blogs. :)
