Spicy Black Bean and Sausage Soup

Winter has definitely arrived, we got our first big snow fall for Christmas and there's still snow on the ground.  When we have this kind of weather, I start craving soups, chili, and crock pot meals.  This Spicy Black Bean and Sausage Soup has been a part of our wintery recipe collection for many years.  I like to kick mine up another notch with some hot sauce and pepper jack cheese if any is on hand.  Even though there are plenty of onions in it, it's also just not complete without a handful of chopped green onions.   Yum and one of our better for your recipes since it came from Cooking Light Magazine.

Does your family have any favorite soup recipes?  If so link me up in the comments!  I'd love some new ones to try.  And while we're giving suggestions, might I take a moment to not recommend this particular Italian Meatball Soup?  I have both of The Pioneer Woman's cookbooks but this was an epic fail.  No one liked it, at...all...my hubby Brad normally will still manage to eat a dish even if anyone else doesn't but even he couldn't.  We had to order pizza the night we made it.  We were all kinda sad, because it had smelled quite good while cooking.
