Ten Minutes for Me

I don't know about you but I need a "ten minutes for me" break during the day! Not that I always get it, but when I do it certainly helps me keep my sanity and helps me be a better mommy and wife. I think it's a lot easier for me to keep my cool about the little things when I feel refreshed and calm and not harried and stressed out. I think Brad likes me a lot better that way too.

There's a lot of things I'd like to do with some extra time. It would be nice to read a chapter in my latest book, work on a scrapbook layout, edit some pictures, or catch up on my favorite blogs. Lately, Brad has been helping me out and taking ER out for a bike ride so I can exercise.

While not exactly the me time I dream about, it does help me stay in shape and with my diabetes control and for once I get to watch something on TV that does not involve singing animals or pets who rescue.
Sadly, with everything going on in our crazy lives, my personal "time out" usually means a quick cat nap, which I don't even get to take by myself! I think ER is permanently glued to my side, and while I know this will change and I'll miss it one day. Sometimes all I want is ten minutes of preschooler free personal space!

What would you do with ten extra minutes to do whatever you want?

10 extra me minutes? Wow. Just sit and take in some quiet time. I hope you enjoy your 10 minutes.

pets who rescue!! so funny!
I usually like to check my emails and message boards during my me time. Or hang up laundry. That might sound weird, but I find hanging laundry to be very pleasing "me" time. Alone. In the laundry room. No one wiping their nose on my pants.

I'd read or scrapbook as well.
I'm the same boat with my 18 mo. old son. He is glued to me all day! I try to have my husband watch him when he's home so I can get something done, but he always finds me. I wish I didn't have to leave home to get time to myself.

that is such a sweet photo! I have a little one that is glued to my side too, and I love it. I don't even bother trying to get a nap in, as soon as I get comfortable I hear a voice looking for 'mamma?'.

extra 10 minutes? BLOG! Or visit a twilight fan site.

I got a rest time today by playing "baby" with my GG. I was the baby and I had to go to bed. She got a kick out of that! ♥

Being able to go outside and enjoy the sun without worrying about my two-year-old running off would be awesome. :)

Totally know what you mean. I work away from home all day and while I LOVE seeing and spending time with my lil' man, I tend to be stretched a little thin at times.
